This is a well written, fast paced, tension filled paranormal suspense novel complete with hidden secrets, dark emotions and a strong psychological component.

Caitlin McKay was found starved, beaten and alone on the street when she was 6 years old. Her parents were never found, nor did she remember who had beaten her so severely as to make her unrecognizable and cause her to undergo several intensive cosmetic surgeries to even give her back a face. Her memory was gone, but she was prone to "seeing" things, and that gift scared those around her, especially until she learned not to speak of such things. She's an adult now, and she uses her sight to help aid the search for missing persons. Her latest visions had brought her to the small coastal town of Longford and to Longford PD Detective Kyle Harris.

Det Kyle Harris was used to tangible facts, things he could see, not psychic stuff, and Caitlin's quiet assurance that Shawna Stiles, a missing woman, was dead, did not sit well with him but then Caitlin's presence disturbed him on several levels, and not all intellectual.

Kyle is sure Caitlin is holding something she's "seen" back from him, but he has his own secrets and is none to willing to share. Caitlin needs to know what Kyle refuses to tell her about the 21 year old brutal murder of Mary Beth Barnett and the kidnapping/ murder of 6 year old Isabelle Babson, who's body was never found, because somehow it hinges on Shawna's disappearance and her death.

There is something evil in this town and Caitlin is very much afraid if she can't find Shawna's murderer quickly, both she and Kyle will be next.

With a growing sexual tension between Kyle and Caitlin, attempts made on Caitlin's life, and Shawna's body found, an old evil threatens to explode again and only by working together can they hope to make it out alive. But even if they do live, will Caitlin be able to forgive Kyle once she learns his terrible secrets? Will Kyle be able to trust enough in Caitlin's visions so save them both? Are they to be fated lovers, or because of the secrets they both hold, simply fated to love and lose.

This paranormal thriller has plenty of action as well as a strong romantic component and an interesting psychic twist on human emotion or lack there of. A good thriller on several levels even if you aren't a fan of paranormal stories.
