For a thousand years, Reinn Mackenzie has been a vampire. Of late, he hwas been appointed as the Guardian of the Blood, in charge of making sure the vampires of his clan only marry vampires, not were-anythings or any other form of preternatural being. His new case takes him to the Woo-woo Inn, where he hopes to keep Alan Mackenzie from marrying a werecat. If he refuses to comply, Reinn will have to kill him. There are a few problems with that idea; he likes Alan, Ganymede the cosmic cat troublemaker has warned him not to kill anyone, and Reinn is falling hard for a werecat, Kisa Evans, Alan's future sister-in-law, himself. There is also someone who seems bent on harming Kisa, the cook has walked off, leaving Sparkle Stardust in charge of the kitchen, and a plague of toe biting vampires has struck. Failure to fulfill his mission will bring down the collected wrath of the vampire council, but that's just one more trouble on the list. Nina Bangs knows how to make you laugh, that much is certain. Sparkle and Ganymede showing up always means the audience is in for a good time. The imaginative ways in which they deal with equally fanciful problems is delightful. |
