The sequel to 'Secrets of the Wind' (Fated Mates Anthology), this story continues the storyline of Riezell Guardians with Captain Ardor Kahn, undercover assignment as a prisoner on a prison ship to infiltrate and assassinate the Storian King Alejandro. Her superiors' are counting on the prison ship being intercepted and relived of its prisoners' by a Rouge Storian named Lord Savidos. Ardor thinks she is prepared for any occurrence but when the prison ship is hijacked and she is taken aboard Lord Savidos ship, she finds herself woefully unprepared and indeed terrified by the skeletal visage of Lord Savidos and equally unprepared to be attracted to Raoul Breva, Savidos right hand man. Ardor is equally unprepared for their knowledge of who she really is and what she is carrying, unbeknownst to her. Even with the undeniable attraction growing between Breva and Ardor, Ardor is not a Guardian for nothing, and she begins to notice things amiss when Breva and Lord Savidos are together. It doesn't take her long to unravel some of the mystery, but not even that major discovery can lessen the shock when she learns the depths of deception her own people would go to and their treachery in intergalactic politics. With Lord Savidos help she will unravel a despicable plot to unsettle the region and further unscrupulous men's desire for power at any cost and discover the depths or her own feelings for a man unique among men. Ardor's Leveche is another feather in Charlotte Boyett Compo's cap, set in a futuristic world, she further develops the beginnings of the Reapers and their spread through out the universe. She manages to intersperse a great story with very hot, very sensual scenes that are guaranteed to make you wish for your own Reaper. Another deliciously sensuous tale from a wonderfully entrancing author. |
