Joster Rack is the Ghost, a rogue operator in a future society when everyone is wired with their own circuitry. He is a thief, a man dedicated to beat the system in any way he can. To escape capture he has a bodychop and is transformed into a woman. But he is not used to controlling female hormones and emotions and is soon unable to make use of the advanced bionantech that has so far kept him ahead of the major corporations. When the Earth is threatened by an alien race Joster Rack is the Earth's last hope but can the authorities find him/her and will he be able to control his/her female hormones and save humanity? This novel owes a lot to Philip K. Dick's and other Cyberpunk writers, the ideas of big corporations running the world and the wired populous come straight from their worlds. But this is not entirely derivative, the story is one which will hold your interest and the writing style clear and easy to read. It is not a book to set the world on fire but it one that deserves to be read. |
