This is a sizzling, well written work of paranormal romantica, complete with the added suspense of an unknown heritage, mystery and murder.

Harlee works for a Government agency that is working to destroy Vampires and Lycans as dangerous predators but her highly erotic dreams are of two men with decidedly nonhuman characteristics. When she is awakened from one of these erotic dreams, tragically before completion, by a hand over her mouth and is dragged out of her bed she is terrified. When her captors, Aiden, a Vampire and Duncan, a Lycan, manage to finally subdue her they proceed to tell her rather fantastic story of how they are there to protect her, that the Lycan leader has been murdered and she is the Heir apparent to the Lycan community as well as the Heir apparent to the Vampire community, as she is the first mixed breed Vampire/Lycan in know history.

Taken to the Coalition headquarters Harlee, playing along to get what ever information she can, is discovering that everything she has been led to believe about the Lycans and the Vampires may not have been true and as becomes more acquainted with the highly sensual races, she begins to have some serious doubts about the validity of the Government agency she works for.

With the knowledge that she has not yet had her powers manifest, if indeed she is the heir apparent, it's explained to her that either great rage or great passion will trigger her latent powers though it's unknown which will be the dominant power. As rage isn't likely to be the trigger, then passion will be used to reveal her powers and as both must be stimulated, then both a Vampire and a Lycan lover will be required - much like her erotic dreams.

When Duncan, Aiden and Harlee survive one murder attempt it become apparent that Harlee needs to be brought into her powers soon.

Is Harlee indeed the heir to two powerful ruling families? What will happen if she is, or if she isn't? Will she be able to stay with Aiden if she shows neither power, and how can she say no to a fantasy night with two incredibly sexy alpha males? Who is behind the murder attempts and will they live to figure it out?

This is an incredibly tasty erotic tale, with an intriguing story line in addition to the sensuous interludes. A very enjoyable read all around. I just hope the Jaci and CJ decide to write a sequel because they certainly have all the elements in place for a terrific series.

Synopsis
Harlee has lived as a human her entire life, working as a psychiatrist on a secret government project evaluating captured werewolves and vampires.

Then one night two strangers jerk her from her bed, blindfold her and turn her world upside down. She is taken deep into the realm of lycans and vampires and told an unbelievable story—that she is the daughter of a forbidden union between a vampire and a werewolf and now possibly the future leader of both their clans.

She doesn't believe them. Vampires and werewolves are the enemies of humans. She hangs onto her humanity, her one and only goal to escape from her sexy and enigmatic captors before she loses her heart and possibly her very soul.

The vampire's and the lycan's goals are entirely different—to mate with the fiery beauty and determine whether her dominant blood is vampire or werewolf. One merely desires her. One will claim her for all eternity. But dark forces turn what begins as a search for identity into a struggle for survival.
