Michael Cale Information and Links
Michael Cale is the nom de plume of a
professional gypsy. Born in Britain, he lived in various countries until
washing up in the South Pacific, which is where he now has a home base. Outside
his writing career, he works for an international 'e-business' company as a
strategist, traveling frequently through North America, Australasia and
south-east Asia to advise major corporations on the Internet and the technology
revolution. It was his on-going research into evolving technology that first
sparked the idea that underlies 'The Room of Shrunken Souls'. (The book is
based on real developments in nanotechnology.)
Besides science fiction and horror, Cale also
writes mainstream literature. He has also published extensively on business and
'e-business' subjects, his most common theme being that of the pace of
technology-induced change and the strategies that we must use to survive and
prosper in the 'new world'.
Animal-lovers will be intrigued to know that Cale
lives with no cats or dogs or any other pet. Not even a goldfish.
There is this persistent fly that seems to have adopted him, though...
