Dark Hunger is a vampire story with a difference. Usually such stories revolve around a non-vampire trying to resist the advances of an older vampire ending up with the vamp being staked and everyone else skipping off into the sunset. Not this one!!!! Our vampire first spots Alana as an innocent 10 year old on holiday in Turkey and realises that she has to be his. Some 12 years later the story continues when Alana meets the mysterious Sadash at the restaurant where she works. Immediately she feels an intense attraction to this strange dark man. The story then encompasses a number of story lines including the mystery surrounding the death of Alana's mother and her relationship with Sadash. Mayra Calvani has produced a well-written, unusual story with a number of nice plot twists. Being a big fan of vampire stories I have read many stories by a wide range of authors and this is up there among the best. |

| Various Review Comments |
"Stunning!--Very highly recommended...Filled with
Puerto Rican heat, the erotically seductive language
deceptively masks the horror of the plot. As questions
of integrity, morality and loyalty become unimportant,
these sensuous characters become hostages to their
darkest desires, their darkest hungers. For lovers of
vampire romances, Dark Hunger is a keeper." --Cindy Penn, Word Weaving "4 Stars...Turkey and Puerto Rico came alive for me through the author's descriptive language. And the main characters are so compelling, they walk off the pages with a life of their own...We immediately become involved with the fully developed relationships amongst these dynamic characters and wish we could, somehow, also be a part of their lives. Powerful characters, indeed. The best vampire romance novel I've read in years. Highly recommended."-- Lida E. Quillen, Twilight Times Ezine "...The story will carry the reader in an iron tight grip until the very last page."-- Susan Johnson, Scribes World Reviews |
