Set in Norfolk, four teenagers sign papers, which appear to fulfil their greatest desires. The consequences become clear later in life and the price to pay becomes catastrophic.

Plot The book has a slow plot that moves with a consistent deliberate pace – at times it can seem a little slow going.

Characters Reasonable, believable characters. Very predictable in their attitudes and lives. They can at times seem a little slow to comprehend the nature of the events and their connection to the original signings.

General This is certainly not Ramsey Campbell's best book but it is readable and should entertain most horror readers.
