Patrick Constable has had a varied career as tank officer, civil servant, and translator. A native of Texas, he now works as a translator, using his home in the north of England as a base. His interest in the Ancient World was first aroused by his Latin studies, and he was subsequently awarded an MA in Russian History. Mr. Constable also has a keen interest in the American Civil War, and has been a frequent contributor to the publication "Confederate-Yankee Chronicle." In addition to the Rhine Lord series, he has written a comic-adventure novel set in Ancient Greece, "Diodorus and the Scythian Gold." He is currently at work on an historical novel set in the Arthurian period. Mr. Constable enjoys visiting various Ancient and Medieval sites in Europe--and keeping a certain 30 acre tract of East Texas pines prisitne for the rest of this millennium.
