Born in Chicago in 1942, Crichton is probably best known for writing the Jurassic Park movies, although he has had other of hios books made into movies (Congo, Eaters of the Dead and Rising Sun and others), and he has directed films also (Coma, Westworld) and is one of the creators of the Television series ER.
