For six months now, Betsy Taylor has been the Queen of the Vampires, but she's not at all evil. On the other hand, her step mother, The Ant (Antonia), may be alive, but she is evil. During a sniping match with her prodigal stepchild, the Ant lets slip she gave up a child for adoption years ago.

This shocks Betsy and deeply troubles the King of the Vampires, Sinclair. As it turns out, the Ant has given birth to the child of the devil, something that does not stretch Betsy's imagination too much. According to the Book of the Dead, a tome so inherently evil that it has the power to corrupt the reader, this child will take over the world for the cause of darkness.

So, Betsy has to track down her half sister and stop her from becoming the ultimate evil. There's just one problem, her kid sister is annoyingly perfect, but in a non-annoying way. Aside from dealing with that, Betsy has a vampiric labor strike on her hands and some serious groveling to do in order to atone for her brief stint as the Queen B.

With a unique take on the traditional vampire lore, Ms. Davidson gives readers a treat. Betsy is everywoman, dealing with an unbelieveable situation in a charming and refreshing way that makes horror humorous.
