Horror fiction author, Scarlett Dean, has been a true horror fan since childhood, and has always enjoyed creating her own dark worlds and characters. "I remember racing home every day after school to catch the last fifteen minutes of my favorite daytime soap, Dark Shadows. It was also a Friday ritual to curl up with a big bowl of popcorn and watch scary movies late into the night. The horror world intrigued me so much that I started writing my own stories."

She is an avid reader who is always looking for a really good scare. As a full-time author, she has published her own quarterly magazine of other author's works in fiction, non-fiction and poetry. She enjoys motivational speaking at area schools to promote the gift of writing and encourage reading.

In addition to her love of books, Ms. Dean finds music, especially Rock, to be her second greatest passion. "Since I can't dance, sing or play any instrument well, I'll stick to writing."

She has three children, and a Siberian Husky who is more like a fourth child than a pet. Her husband is the computer genius who bales her out of her e-messes with the patience of God, and supports and encourages her in all of her writing endeavors. Of course, her characters are practically family when she's writing a book, often keeping her awake at night. "Being a writer allows you to get away with hearing voices, without being committed!"
