A second time around these characters are more mature, and the newly introduced characters match the more familiar counterparts in richness and interest. The story follows on from the Belgariad, Garion's son has been kidnapped and now he must quest to win him back and prevent a second attempt at altering the world's future for the worst.

Eddings (and Eddings) have continued this story in grand style, and although there are major plot similarities (even mentioned many times during the characters conversations) this will drag you through to a very satisfying conclusion.

I cannot level a single criticism at this series.
