Damon just wants to abandon his violent life and settle down in his new house in Sea Haven, next door to the legendary Drake sisters. He's only been there a short time when Sarah Drake, the town saint, apparently, returns home. Though Drake doubts her powers, he's intrigued by her, naturally. Shortly after they meet, things begin to happen. There is an attraction drawing them to each other, a gate has been opened to let their long foretold love blossom. Nothing can stop that, but Death will try. It has been cheated, and demands a victim. Sarah and her sisters will have to combine powers to stop a killer from making sure Damon pays the cost. There are many angles to this book that it would be fun to explore in a longer work. The groundwork for the Drake series is laid out, making it an essential read for anyone who wants to read the entire set. If you only have a few minutes, they could be spent well on this novella. |
