Recluse is a supernatural tale that starts with the main character, Daniel, discovering a letter, after his father's death that leads to the apartment of a mysterious woman, Elizabeth Swann. While visiting Ms Swann's apartment Daniel also meets a mysterious French woman, Yvette Brand, who may not be quite what she seems.

The first feeling I had when reading this book was how complicated the writing style made things feel. I found this an extremely confusing, intricate story with a fairly predictable ending. The whole thing left me feeling bemused and less than completely satisfied.
