Guilty Pleasures is the 1st book in the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series. When I read it I was amazed that it was the 1st as there seemed to be a lot of information that the reader was assumed to already be aware of – there was little in the way of explanations. Although this style may appeal to some readers it unfortunately left me feeling unsatisfied. Some of the vampire characters were quite well described but overall the novel just felt incomplete.

I may be a die-hard Vampire fan but I will not be including any other Anita Blake books in my reading list for the future.
