This is the second book in a highly entertaining Paranormal series by Lori Handeland dealing with Hunters – called Jäger-Suchers, werewolves, witches and assorted other creatures that go bump in the night. Leigh Tyler is a member of the hunter searchers called Jäger-Suchers. She hunts monsters of the supernatural kind and werewolves are her specialty. When Edward Mandenauer, the leader of the Jäger-Suchers, calls her to Crow Valley Wisconsin to train a new Jäger-Suchers, she is not happy. She is one of the best, but she hunts alone. She was witness and only survivor of the massacre by werewolves that took her entire family and her fiancé, and now she lives only to kill the monsters responsible. When Leigh and Jesse, two fiery tempered, sharp tongued alpha females meet, more than sparks fly. When they have to work together, well let's just say it creates some very amusing situations. Mandenauer has called both Leigh and Jesse to Crow Valley to investigate a very strange occurrence, Werewolves are being killed but it's not the Jäger-Suchers who are responsible. When Leigh meets a very naked and very sexy Damien Fitzgerald in the woods, feelings she never thought to have again come out of retirement and into overdrive. She can't get Damien out of her mind and there is something very disturbing about him. When a volatile friendship grown from mutual respect blooms between Leigh and Jesse, Leigh finds herself confessing that there may be more than coincidence behind her being in Crow Valley. The evil that had taken her family is still out there and Leigh has been experiencing dreams featuring the monster prominently. As the heat increases in Damien and Leigh's relationship, they must both decide if their secrets are more important than their developing closeness and if they can accept each others dark pasts. Only by working together can they stop the great evil from rising under the hunter's moon and keep each other alive. This is a terrific book, full of sharp quips, witty dialogue, sexy interludes, great suspense, interesting characters and some cool plot twists. A terrific way to spend some time. |

Impelled by a tragic past, Leigh Tyler has become one of the finest Juger - Suchers on the planet, and due to this capability, when Jessie (Blue Moon) needs training, Edward summons Leigh to be her guide. The teacher may have a bit to learn from her student though. After all, Jessie and her lover, Will, just killed the wolf god. Now these three, and the enigmatic Damien must join together to stop the Wendigo, the ultimate lycanthrope. Making it all the more dangerous is this villain's unholy desire for Leigh herself, a passion that will force her to go to confront the deepest darkness; either to be consumed or triumph. This book and its predecessor have all the hallmarks of an upcoming classic series; focus is sharpley maintained, the heroes are flawed and compelling, the tension level taut, yet lightened with wit. Be sure and add both Hunter's Moon and Blue Moon to your keeper shelf - and make room for Dark Moon, the third book coming soon. |
