Two lovers in catlike fashion, have nine lives, moving through the centuries as they strive to break the curse that keeps them apart. Hampered by amnesia with each new birth, yet still under the gaes, Kalyss enters into her tenth life, the one that is her, and her beloved Dreux's, final opportunity to be together. If she fails this time, he will be doomed for all time and she will pass into the afterlife alone and without love. This time though, her memory of all her pasts comes back with violence as her magic is awakened and with it the realization of her mission. Haunted by nine lives worth of mistakes and not knowing who can help her now, Kalyss will need all that she has ever been to achieve her goal. Unfortunately, in the end, the ultimate choice is not hers alone to make.

Though this is a very different, unusual read, be advised that like all reincarnation themed novels, there is much jumping around in time as past and present shift abruptly. Nonetheless, this is an ambitious, imaginative debut and hopefully, readers can look forward to more from this author. She certainly redefines character growth.
