Going to New Orleans to claim her inheritence from her completely dead cousin, Hadley, should be a simple process for Sookie Stackhouse, but this is Sookie Stackhouse we are talking about. Nothing is that simple. For one thing, Hadley had been dead for a while, but she was a vampire, the queen's favorite, and now she had been murdered, dead for the last time. New Orleans is a hotbed of vampire and were politics, and there are some weres out for Sookie's blood due to events stemming from her time taking care of Eric, the local vampire sheriff. Sookie is in trouble up to her ears, and is just now learning all the reasons why this is so. They are not very pretty reasons either, but she can live with them, ifi she is allowed to live. These books are always fun. Seeing how the plot threads from the past carry over and come to fruition in each segment is intriguing, and the stories themselves are simply fun. Vampires seem more human in Ms. Harris' books, without losing their otherworldliness. If you have missed this series until now, go back to Book One and treat yourself to them all. |
