Grave Sight an excellent read and the first in Charlaine Harris's great new Harper Connelly series.

Harper Connelly was hit by lightning when she was 15 years old and as a consequence she now sees dead bodies, a talent she now uses with the assistance of her step brother Tolliver, to find missing, often dead people.

When she is hired by a women to find out what happened to her dead son's girlfriend, unexpected things start happening. After searching in the area the boys' body was found, Harper uncovers the dead girls' body, and declares her to have been murdered, as was the boy, though everyone else seems to want to believe it was a suicide.

With the case seemingly solved and on their way out of town, Harper and Tolliver are called unexpectedly by the mother of the dead girl. In conversation, Harper discovers that the women's older daughter is also dead, leaving Deputy Hollis a widower.

Things really start to fall apart when Harper and Tolliver are called back to town from their next case after the mother of the slain girl is found beaten to death and when Harper checks, she discovers that Hollis' wife's accidental death was not an accident after all, in fact all three women have been murdered. What did they know or see that could cause their deaths over such a time range?

When Tolliver is jailed on trumped up charges things really go down hill. Harper is followed, attacked twice, and shot at and they are still no closer to discovering who killed any of victims but it is just too much of a coincidence for the deaths to have been anything but connected and how far will the killer go to protect his/her secret.

It's a race now to see if Harper and Tolliver can figure out the connections, the motive and who was responsible for the four deaths before someone is able to make good on the attempts on Harpers life.

This is going to be a wonderful series with characters that will appeal to Sookie Stackhouse fans as well as those who prefer more suspense based stories. Harper Connelly with leave her mark and develop her own fan following as did Sookie with Charlaine Harris's unique talent lending both series their own individuality.

Since Harper was struck by lightning, the young woman has had the "gift" of being able to simply stand on a grave or be near a deceased body somehow and know how they died. Using this ability, she makes a living for herself and her brother, Tolliver, helping those left behind find closure in mysterious death cases.

Her latest case is initially not to difficult. Within a short time, she's able to tell a not only how a young woman died, but that she was not killed by the man accused of doing so, who also has died. With that done, Harper and Tolliver plan to simply move on, leaving broken hearts in their wake as the sheriff has taken a liking to Harper, and a much younger woman has a crush on Tolliver.

Of course, since a local thug is not too pleased with having his girl like Tolliver, their leaving is good. Then, there's another murder, and the siblings are called back as suspects this time. Trouble has begun and just keeps coming. Even when it's clear they did not kill the woman, there are those who want them out of the way.

A secret links three deaths, and anyone who gets close to learning the truth will die, unless Harper discovers who will cover it in blood.

This homey feeling mystery moves at a rapid fire pace. The puzzle is baffling until the very end. Small town life and politics are portrayed with a touch of realism that adds depth to the characters and action. This new series should be interesting to follow.
