Since being struck by lightening, Harper Connelly has had the dubious gift of being able to locate dead bodies and know how they died. Though it has been a semi-lucrative means of making money, it is a hard method of making a living. Her latest gig has her displaying her talent before a college class in a cemetary, ostensibly so a professor can attempt to debunk her. However, when she stands on one grave, Harper senses two bodies, one of which is the corpse of her one failure, Tabitha Morgenstern, a child she never could locate.

Now, she and her step-brother, Tolliver, are plunged into a two year old case that has only become more complex with time. The killer is still out there, and somehow, Harper is the key to the puzzle. If she does not solve it, she might learn about graves from the wrong side of the plot.

Ms. Harris has crafted a clever, intricate mystery that intertwines both chills and genuine warmth. Harper is an intriguing sleuth with a very defining gift. If you're tired of the same old, same old in murder stories, give this a try.
