Gloria, a self-confessed "space nut", was born during a storm in Sebastopol, California and life has been an adventure since. She attended Santa Rosa High School, Santa Rosa, California and was the school football mascot "Pandy", mainly because of her height and she 'fit' the costume. She later graduated from Healdsburg High, Healdsburg, Calif. Where she met and married her husband Seth, of many years.
She lived in Santa Rosa when Seth went to Vietnam for a year with the US Army. She worked at Teen Challenge Drug Addiction Center, several years in San Francisco, where she turned down a shark-feeding job at the one time aquarium ship in the bay, for the higher calling of Teen Challenge.
