A Bunch of Wild Flowers is the final book in the Wild Flower Trilogy and follows the ongoing adventures of Poppy and St John as they battle to save the Golden Bluebell from the clutches of Stheno. Having visited a number of the constellations and spoken with many of the Greek Gods the siblings have been given gifts to help them in their quest to protect the Golden Bluebell.

As Stheno gets closer to the Golden Bluebell Poppy and St John put their plans into action, placing specific wild flowers at key positions and then using the magic of the gods to allow those flowers to transform into physical representations of their names. Despite their monumental task Poppy and St John still have the chance to explore life as normal young people – especially when they meet another set of siblings, Tony and Fran, under rather unusual circumstances (which I am not going to go into here – I don't want to spoil the story).

As with the first two volumes of this trilogy this story is completely enchanting and had me hooked from the very start. Once again I can honestly say that this set of stories would be perfect for reading to young children as Paul Hayward has managed to combine adventure and excitement with a story about Greek gods and British wild flowers. I would also like to reassure anyone considering buying the collection that there is nothing in any of these books that could possibly cause offence or upset any one.

If you start to read these books with your children I can guarantee that by the end of the first book you will be enjoying it as much as your listeners and the inclusion of star charts and constellations will give you a source book to use when you next look up at the night sky.

Truly fabulous!
