Take three women with chequered backgrounds: Lysette, a stripper, kills a mugger and becomes "The Nightwatcher"; Deidre, a reporter and Shana, an unstable, semi-psychic, estranged friend. Add to this Briggs and Rios, homicide detectives. All want to catch the Nightwatcher to assuage their consciences and get closure for personal events.

Plot
Straightforward plot. A little tedious and slow to evolve. Reasonably logical but uninspiring. No unexpected twists.

Characters
Complex characters with odd personalities. Very deep and sometimes difficult to assimilate. All described in minute detail over many paragraphs full of dark thoughts and moods.

General
A tedious book which seemed to take longer to read than usual, rather like wading through treacle! Very tempting to give up on but does eventually have a reasonable conclusion. Good for insomniacs.
