Have you ever felt like you might be an alien in life? Well, according to Barry Ireland, you just might be from the wrong dimension. Misbirths are relatively rare, but when they occur, or when persons or relatively compatible IQ (Importance Quotient's) somehow manage to swap worlds, you can be sure there is a Time Adjustment waiting to happen. In this case, a series of swaps begins when an ugly queen and a beautiful magic princess exchange places. For the Princess Angelica and the king, this is a very good thing.

It's even better for the wizard Excru, who gets the credit for getting rid of the very unhappy queen. Now, Excru is important and rich enough to have an apprentice, a color, and get his name spelled right. All this activity attracts a nosy half elf news reporter, prompting fears that she will find the hidden Elf wheel; so the king dispatches someone to find it first.

The wheel is at a convent full of nuns who are looking for men, and magic up some from this world; a few members of a rock band and the carpenter who helped the princess get to that world. This is fine with at least one of them. The other two are worried about what will happen when they are used up, and want to go home.

All the forces of change converge on the convent when the elf, the band, witches, wizards, and a transplanted horse make decisions of great dimensions.

Confused? Well, don't worry. It's a fun ride, nonetheless. If you enjoy Monty Python or perhaps Douglas Adams, then read Zolin. Classic fairy tales are parodied most expertly.

Synopsis

Wizards with spelling difficulties, witches with attitude, a raving 60's rock band on a trip to another dimension, a convent full of sex-hungry nuns, randy royalty, dragons on the make, even lumps in the plaster … and these are only a few of the problems faced by Zolin the bewildered trainee wizard and Ajax the small town carpenter when their dimensiverses collide.

Zany Barry Ireland picks up where the late Douglas Adams left off his blockbusting Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy series, and throws improbability into overdrive.

A rare Laugh Out Loud book which might be embarrassing to read in the company of strangers in a railway carriage or to remember at board meetings and funerals.

Ireland's hilariously peopled worlds are dangerous to the health of tummy muscles and funny bones.
