Centuries ago, Ninon made a devilish deal and acquired eternal beauty. All she had to do was bathe in St. Elmo's Fire every fifty years and be renewed. Now, she is on the run from St. Germain and has found her way to Mexico where she hopes to kill her maker. She will also meet Miguel Stewart, the son of a monster masquerading as a death god who wants to turn them both into vampires, and not the seductive, Hollywood variety, either.

Ninon and Miguel must join forces to keep themselves and all humanity safe from their "parents" and hopefully destroy both St. Germain and Smoking Mirror. Neither of them is looking for love, but they do find the attraction between themselves is powerful enough to give them courage.

Most of the time, I love this author's work. However, this was a disappointment, with little to no romance, too many flashbacks, and shifting viewpoints.
