Chloe might have the Sight, but she chose to ignore it. Still, from the moment she begins her assignment of photographing the private graveyard belonging to the Patrick family, her senses seem to be all on alert. Strange things are happening; people are going missing and dying, a charming young man seems to hide a secret, and there is unexplained flora in odd places. To find the answers she needs, Chloe will have to make peace with her gift and decide what truth she wants. There is a definite creepiness pervading the novel that will surely appeal to fans of gothic novels that were more popular in a bygone time. This is a departure from Ms. Jackson's usual style, but showcases her range of talent well. |
