This story is rated X-Treme by Ellora's cave, and not without reason but, having said that, the extreme nature of the tale is an integral part of the story of an innately sensual, violent world of Vampiric people. The author skillfully combines the sensuality, blood and pain, and weaves it all into a very intense story. Not for the faint of heart. Sally Ann Moss is a reclusive and highly successful writer of sensual Vampiric fiction, but her recurring dreams of a world with 2 moons and a purple sky are getting increasingly vivid and dark to the point she is reluctant to sleep. The dreams are becoming more and more real, with physical markings on her body and the appearance of a black flower after each dream and even stranger, she is starting to understand the strange words from her dreams. The drive to complete the novels influenced by the new dreams has become an obsession and the dark quality of those dreams is beginning to have an effect on Sally Ann's personality. Her thoughts and needs are starting to reflect the dark passions of her dreams. When Sally Ann receives an unusual email after completing her novels, the reference to the black flower is all she needs to accept the strange offer. Noul Keirar is Master of his world, and his need for his mate Sulianna is increasing. His people are dying, their crops are failing and fewer and fewer children are being born. He needs his mate to be whole to try and find a way to stop the decline and restore life to his people. His people are the Raheeni, a race of dark and deadly passions, where extreme sexuality and violence is the norm. Keirar needs to persuade his absent mate to return home and complete the necessary ceremony to and surrender to her Master. What will it take to persuade Sulianna to return home? Will Sally Ann find the darker passions offered at the Black Flower able to fulfill her emerging desires? Will Keirar be able to discover the reasons for and stop the decline of his people? A very well written novel, first in a series that promises to be very interesting. This book is rated X-Treme which means very explicit sexual encounters some of which may have controversial subject material. |
