Since her career tanked, Susan Michaels has been reduced to writing about people who have affairs with aliens and big-foot sightings essentially. In pursuit of a story about something fishy going on at an animal shelter, she finds herself being forced to adopt a cat, to which she is violently allergic, never guessing that she has just taken in a Dark Hunter, Ravyn, who got stuck in cat form when he was captured. Now, he dares not change back to man form, even if he could, because it is day and sun would fry him. Once she has him in the house and gets a power inhibiting collar off, Susan discovers she has not a cat, but a man, and a boatload of troubles. Now, with the combined might of corrupt police and Daimons after her and Ravyn, she finds herself in the middle of a war she had no idea had been going on for eons. She is also in the midst of a family feud, as Ravyn's kin would just as soon kill him as look at him. Things are more dangerous than ever for the Dark Hunters. Stryker's influence is growing, and even their own might not be trustworthy. To make matters even worse, Artemis does not want to let Acheron off Olympus to help. Then, there's the little matter of learning that Susan is Ravyn's destined mate, and she is allergic to him. This series continues to get more complex and fascinating. The world of the Dark Hunters is addictive, especially when it ends on a cliff-hanger, as this one does. |
