Through a psychic connection, she and the Dark Hunter continue to meet, and somehow, she becomes pregnant. Though Cassie was already a target; a demi-goddess known as the Destroyer wants her dead, ending her bloodline and the world, now she is doubly so.

Wulf must protect her, but with what feels like all the forces of Hell against him, it may be impossible.

This is the most complex, emotionally moving of the Dark Hunter novels so far. The sacrifices and love that move the action from crisis to crisis are offset by deftly time humor, making for a very satisfying read.
