Wulf is the loneliest, most doomed of all the Dark Hunters. Within five minutes of meeting him, any mortal not of his blood will forget him. Since only love can free a Dark Hunter, he has little hope of that happening. His only friends are fellow Dark Hunters, and his great many times over nephew whom he protects to the point of smothering. Then, he meets Cassandra, and falls for the beautiful woman, not knowing she is not mortal.

She is a half Apolloite,a race he is sworn to kill. Most of them choose to turn Daimon, soul vampires, to sustain their life beyond their twenty seventh year. However, Cassie won't. Through a psychic connection, she and the Dark Hunter continue to meet, and somehow, she becomes pregnant. Though Cassie was already a target; a demi-goddess known as the Destroyer wants her dead, ending her bloodline and the world, now she is doubly so.

Wulf must protect her, but with what feels like all the forces of Hell against him, it may be impossible.

This is the most complex, emotionally moving of the Dark Hunter novels so far. The sacrifices and love that move the action from crisis to crisis are offset by deftly time humor, making for a very satisfying read.

Synopsis
Wulf is an ancient Viking warrior with a useful but extremely aggravating power - amnesia. No one who meets him in person can remember him 5 minutes later. It makes it easy to have one-night stands, but hard to have a meaningful relationship, and without true love he can never regain his soul. When he finally meets Cassandra, the one woman who can remember him, she turns out to be the princess of the cursed race he's sworn to hunt - and forbidden to him. The two of them must face ancient curses, prophecies, and the direct meddling of the Greek gods to find true happiness at last.
