For eons, the Dream Hunters have existed without any ability to feel anything other than pain. Their only relief comes when they tap into a mortal's dreams and are able to live vicariously. Not unexpectedly, some get addicted and turn into Skoti, those who abuse that gift. Arikos was once one of the best Dream Hunters, now he is Skoti, and there is one mortal to whom he is especially addicted, Dr. Meageara (Geary) Kalieri. The desire to know her as a person, to be able to feel as a normal person, drives Arikos to strike a bargain with Hades. For two weeks, he can be a mortal man and be with Geary as she searches for Atlantis, but in return, he must bring her to Hades when he comes back, or face the most dire of punishments. He agrees, not regretting it until he is able to feel and then it is too late.

As he keeps his secret and the two fall in love, other matters take greater priority. Geary is searching for the lost city, and if she finds it, she will also find the door to Appollymi's prison and she is one of the few people who could unleash the Destroyer into the world. Should that happen, Geary will not be the only one destined for Hell. All beings everywhere will be.

A new dimension unfolds in the world of the Dark Hunters. Although long time readers may be somewhat disappointed to discover that Acheron gets scant page time, that is only a minor flaw. The story is passionate and vibrant, touching on themes of sacrifice, priorities, and love and combining them in a thrilling adventure.

Synopsis
Arik is such a predator. Condemned by the gods to live for eternity without emotions, Arik can only feel when he's in the dreams of others. Now, after thousands of years, he's finally found a dreamer whose vivid mind can fill his emptiness. Dr. Megeara Kafieri made a reluctant promise to her dying father that she would salvage his reputation by proving his life-long belief that Atlantis is real. But frustration and bad luck dog her every step. Especially the day they find a stranger floating in the sea. His is a face she's seen many times...in her dreams. What she doesn't know is that Arik has made a pact with the god Hades: in exchange for two weeks as a mortal man, he must return to Olympus with a human soul - Megeara's soul.
