Frye is the third book in the episodic short stories in the Sterling files and follows faithfully in the footsteps of the first two, a bit of adventure, a bit of steamy romance all wrapped up in a neat series. The Sterling Facility is home to and study faculties to many paranormally gifted individuals dedicated to good works and to fighting the less than noble dealings of Siren, a company devoted to making money through the exploitation and weaponization of paranormal abilities. Mia Frye is a pyrokenetic but her control is less than stellar, and she is very afraid of hurting anyone she might get close to emotionally. Her fear, though, is also keeping her from admitting to loving Ryan Murdock, the man now in charge of Sterling. It's also Ryan's fear of pushing Mia too fast that has kept him quiet about his feelings toward Mia, but Mia's last episode has forced her back to the Sterling compound and it looks like more that Mia's powers are combustible and things are about to get out of control. With Siren about to launch another wave of aggression against the unsuspecting public, Mia, Ryan, Steele, Vicious, Marla and Enya are off to stop production of the cerebral chips, but will Ryan be able to keep Mia safe and convince her that they do indeed belong together? And will they be able to survive the fire between them? Though short, these stories are all wonderfully sexy and very enjoyable, read them as a unit or separately, but indulge yourself and enjoy the world of the sometimes dangerous but always hot, Sterling Files. |
