Rachel is divorcing her rich, scientist husband. As she leaves the court after the divorce, her ex Eric accosts her in anger. He steps from the pavement and is killed by a lorry. Rachel's new love, Ben is an Estate Agent with a past, having served in Vietnam. Eric's body disappears from the Mortuary and suddenly both Rachel and Ben are persued by Eric's work colleagues, the CIA and Eric himself who has been experimenting with genetic cell regeneration. The characters in this book are excellent, exciting and very real. Rachel is portrayed as a fairly strong woman with few frailties and Ben is enigmatic with many secrets. Eric is fascinating and his "resurrection" most unusual. The changes within the body of Eric are so real that they are easy to visualise and I found that I could not wait to see what happened to him next. So much so that I almost lost a little interest in the main characters and was more absorbed by Eric. A very good and interesting thought provoking book, easy to read and hard to put down. A definite MUST. |
