Another Dean Koontz special...

Danny, the young son of Tina Evans is killed in a tragic accident whilst on a school trip. His mother cannot come to terms with her loss, and always has the feeling that Danny is not really dead.

Just as she is beginning to piece her life together, messages appear in Danny's room insinuating that he is alive somewhere. Thus begins a voyage of courage and persistence as Tina tries to find her son.

There is fear, horror and tragedy in the story and all is told with the usual Koontz magic; a real spine- tingler, difficult to put down.

The characters in the story are totally believable, especially the interaction between a mother and her thought-to-be deceased son. The situation in which the son finds himself is sometimes is hard to come to grips with however the conclusion is satisfying. At times this book can be a difficult read but it is well worth persevering with.
