Alex Hunter is a private detective of the finest kind. He is on holiday in Japan when he meets Joanna Rand. He recognises her as someone who went missing 10 years before and whom he investigated at the time to no avail. But Joanna has no recollection of her past or of having lived anywhere other than Japan. A ruthless and bizarre operation has altered her memories and her past and Alex has to try to open her mind to find out the truth of what has happened to her. This is a super book. It had me riveted from the first page. The plot is magnificent and the characters superb. There are so many twists and turns in the plot that it is impossible to foresee the result. Even at the end there is a final twist to the tale and the reader realises that the clues to it have been in the story all the way through, but covered just enough for one not to see them until the book is ended. What a thoroughly good book... Buy it at once! |
