A physically and mentally scarred Detective and his wife inherit a ranch in Montana under mysterious circumstances. Upon arrival they find that their lives are in danger form an ultra-intelligent life-force.

Plot
A jolly good story, both human and'inhuman'. The setting is wonderfully and very well described without overpowering the story itself. There are some horrific descriptions although the author carries these off without them seeming too disturbing or feeling as though they are for shock value only. The story progresses to a very satisfying conclusion.

Characters
Good characters, very sensible and with reactions and feelings that are very easy to understand and sympathise with. There are no real heroes and the "evil" of the story is described intelligently without too much blood and gore.

General
This is a complete story in every way - description, plot, setting, pace & conclusion. Not to easy to pick up, read for a little while and put down. This book wants you to keep reading. Recommended!
