The book tour was so well organized it might have been run by the government, Cassie's executive assistant, Endora, complained. She had no idea how right she was. Nor was it any coincidence that the "Kitchen Witch's" best friend had the same name as a more famous "witch". Cassie herself is a witch and had worked on the set of Bewitched. Endora is not her mother, but her familiar, a shapeshifting cat. Agnes Moorhead's character could have taken pointers from Cassandra's mother, a match making, mortal disliking granddam much distressed over her daughter's not wanting to marry the warlocks thrown her way. Someone has caught her eye though; a very handsome mortal writer sharing her book tour. Mick seems to be the ideal man, but there is a troubled aura surrounding him which becomes clear when Cassie learns his secret. The bestselling horror novelist's books are being used by a serial killer as a blueprint for murder. Mick himself and now Cassie, as his lover, become targets when word of Mick's immenent retirement leaks out of the embittered lips of an ex fiance. It will take the combined skills of the FBI, who planned the tour as a set up, and the witches of New Orleans to stop a maniac from ending Cassie and Mick's lives before they've really lived. As you can see from the description of this book, it has something for lovers of practically every genre. Each aspect is well rounded and crucial to the flow of this impossible to put down novel. One moment the reader is laughing, a page latter, things get hot, then the action smoothly flows into an icy chill of suspense. |
