When his father, who faked his own death, emerges from the "grave" to blackmail his family, Blue Perrineau finds that he must track down his estranged half-brother to help get out of the situation created. His quest leads to Vegas where he finds not only Daniel, but a beautiful animal trainer, who has a lot in common with her subjects.

Iris is a shape-shifter, and the target of an evil Consortium made up of sick men who have vile purposes in mind for those with special gifts. That means Blue and Daniel are not safe, nor are Blue's friends. This may be Dirk and Steele's hairiest, no pun intended, case yet.

This is a complex story, much like The X-Files without the frequent gross out factor, or Alias with more of a paranormal twist. Fans of the Dirk and Steele books will not want to miss it.
