Dragon's Moon is a story aimed at young adult readers. It is the story of an outcast dragon looking for his place in life. Essentially it is the story of The Ugly Duckling but with dragons! The Waddle Dragon was found as an egg by his mother but soon begins to realise that he is different to all the other waddle dragons. He is treated pretty much as an outcast so when his mother is killed he decides to venture out into the world alone. This is a nice little story with good messages concerning equality and first appearances. The main characters are very endearing and the dragon social structure has been well thought out. The writing style is clear and skilled. The author easily makes you feel sorry for the little waddle dragon. |
