Sent back in time by a gypsy spell, Kat finds herself in Camelot, but King Arthur's court is not exactly like she recalls from the legends. For one thing, there's no Round Table. Lancelot is more interested in her than in Guinevere, and Guinevere and Arthur are completely in love with each other.

After a consultation with the Lady of the Lake, Kat learns she can go back home - in nine months, after she's done the Lady a bit of a favor that will preserve Camelot. With Lancelot to keep her occupied, Kat should manage okay, if Mordred doesn't make too much trouble, or if Morgause doesn't take revenge on her for killing King Lot - Morgause's hated spouse. Like Twain's Boss, Kat does make a few changes to life in Merry Olde England, though not quite as radical ones, perhaps.

In this book's favor, it has a breezy, amusing quality that will surely entertain you. The way it ends will make readers ready for a sequel. However, there is one major drawback that many will find distracting.

It is told in first person in the present tense, which is much less reader friendly stylistically than past tense third or first person.
