HUGH McCRACKEN
KINNON ENTERPRISES
Writer & Editor
Hugh was born in Glasgow, Scotland and had his early education somewhat interrupted
by evacuation during World War II. After taking a degree in Chemistry and Mathematics at
St. Andrews University he worked for some time as a Chemical Engineer before becoming
a teacher. He, his wife Lyn, and son David, relocated to Canada in 1967 where his second
son, Iain, was born.
Hugh and Lyn now live in Ottawa to be close to both sons, daughter-in-law, and three
grandchildren. For the past ten years Hugh has been a freelance writer and editor, although
he started writing much earlier. Recently he became Associate Editor for BeWrite Books. Some of
his short stories and poems may be seen at www.bewrite.net
A finalist for his novel Ring of Stone in the 2003 EPPIE Awards in the category Action/Adventure.
Final winner to be announced in March 2003 at the EPIC Conference in Florida.
Hugh is at present working on the bound-proof edit of Return to the Hunt -- a
sequel to Rules of the Hunt -- and it should have a publication date of
March or April 2003.
Hugh has also written, under the pseudonym Alistair Kinnon, a decidedly adult police procedural
novel The Knotted Cord
