Karl Joreid, carpenter by day; author by night, lives on Long Island with his wife, Janet, and their sons, Grant and Logan.

Frances McFate and her husband, Fred, live in a suburb of Atlanta GA. Their children and grandchildren live nearby.

Karl and Frances met in an online writing contest in October 1997. In addition to The Demon Plague, they've written about twenty short stories, a children's novella: The Chain Street Boys; Mystery of Crimson Canyon, and are currently working on a new novel set in a fictitious Louisiana town.
