This is the first adventure in a timeless SF/Fantasy series from one of the masters. It is a book from before the time when fantasy novels required you to be a bodybuilder just to pick the book up.

For all its comparitive thinness, this book packs alot in. The writing style is a lot leaner than many but still manages to convey full richness of detail, both of characters and of Meliboné itself. This may not be for you if you enjoy hefting around mighty tomes to get to fantasy but if you want a well-crafted fantasy novel of the old-school pick this one up. You will almost certainly not be disappointed.
