If you have seen the film Timescape (or Grand Tour: Disaster in Time) then you will be very familiar with this story. In it three people (one man and two women) have rented rooms in a house from Oliver Wilson. After they arrive he becomes curious about who they are and why they have come to his home town and what is special about this particular month of May. The main characters (the house owner and the three strange guests) are wonderfully written and engage the reader. You will share Oliver's curiosity with regards his house guests as he strives to uncover their secret. This is classic SF. Suspenseful and with a great concept. And like all good SF it has aged well. This is a great novella from an author highly skilled at producing short fiction. |
