Jana G. Oliver Information and Links
I was born and raised in Iowa, trained as a
registered nurse, have farmed with a team of draft horses while living in 'rural
splendor' (without running water and central heat) and traveled the globe. I'm
an only child who soon realized the world did not revolve around me. My first
story was based on a popular TV series (The Man from U.N.C.L.E.) which should
give you a clue to my age. After a number of careers and a stint in Hong Kong, I
finally decided to do what I've always wanted to do: write. My books have met
with success and now I write full time because my husband supports that habit
by making a real living.
I live in Atlanta, love all things Celtic (this
site should be a big clue) and will travel to the UK with little provocation.
When I'm not writing fantasies, I'm writing paranormal mysteries. It's what I do
well so I'm not going to mess with the formula.
And since someone always
asks: my favorite beer is Beamish or Harp, my favorite whiskey is anything
Irish, my favorite mixed drink is a Sour Apple Martini and there are not enough
strawberries or blueberries on the planet to keep me happy. And no, I'm not
Irish, I'm Welsh.
What do I dislike? Ignorant, narrow-minded people. What
do I love? The fact that I can use my 'over-active imagination' and entertain
folks. It doesn't get any better than that.
