Winner of the 1999 Bram Stoker Award for Best First Novel.

John Passarella is a married father of three young children, who resides in Logan Township, New Jersey. He has written in the genres of dark fantasy, supernatural thrillers, horror, science fiction, fantasy and mystery, although has been concentrating on horror and supernatural stories in recent years.

The co-authored Wither was his first published novel. Columbia Pictures purchased the film rights to Wither in a preemptive, pre-publication bid. Wither won the Bram Stoker Award in 2000 for Superior Achievement in a First Novel.

Wither was followed with the media tie-ins Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Ghoul Trouble and Angel: Avatar, and then the sequel to Wither, Wither's Rain

2004 has seen the publication of another media tie-in, Angel: Monolith (June 2004), and will also see the next sequel in the Wendy Ward series, Wither's Legacy in October.

An active member of the Horror Writers Association (HWA) and the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA), as well as a regular member of The Authors Guild, and a member of the Garden State Horror Writers.

He is an HWA mentor -- and the webmaster for the Garden State Horror Writers.
