When Derek Connor is cursed so that he loses his werewolf abilities, he panics. With the full moon approaching, he seeks help from white witch, Liz Hastings. However, he is not completely honest, pretending that he is only researching lycanthropes, not that he is one.

Both of them have trust issues, and Derek is involved with someone else, nonetheless, a connection between them is evident immediately. That is secondary to Derek, in light of his inability to become a wolf. Romance will just have to wait on the moon.

Though there an intriguing reversal of the usual scenario, ie, "the wolf must be cured before he can find love", to an extent, the story is weighed down by angst. Both hero and heroine have tons of baggage that prevents them from being honest until the very end. Still, it is basically a good story, and is definitely a different take on the usual lycanthrope novel. Plus, both Liz and Derek are quirky enough to be real.

Synopsis
The only thing worse than being a werewolf who can't Change is being the leader of the pack. Someone put a curse on Derek, and he has to find a way to fix it before the rest of his pack finds out he's disabled - in a manner of speaking. Liz Hastings is the perfect choice to help him find a solution: she's a witch, and she doesn't know he's not an aspiring author researching a horror novel.

Liz struggles against her attraction for the good-looking if somewhat oddball guy who's obsessed with werewolves. She doesn't trust anybody, least of all herself, and there's something not quite right with this alleged writer. Still, he's fun to be with and he's given her a challenge, and that's something she just can't pass up. The truth, she soon discovers, is even more bizarre than she'd imagined.
