Interesting... Basically the story is about the nightwatchmen who take care of Ankh-Morpork. There is a character called Carrot (brought up by Dwarves despite being a very tall human) who decides to enlist in the City Guard, a very rare and ill-thought of act on the Discworld. Soon after this Carrot is called upon to investigates a murder caused by a summoned dragon.

This book was very well written, and has a wonderful build up of drama heading towards its climax. DEATH as always is handled superbly. The mirroring of today's police force with the Discworld's equivalent was built into the story in measured portions throughout the book in a wonderfully humourous manner. If you like fantasy and humour then do not miss this book.
