Synopsis
In the sequel to Rainscape, ex-agent Dina Marlijn now finds herself caught between two outlaws.

Her resignation from the Bureau completed, Dina books passage on a small cargo vessel to pursue telepath Rayn DeStar across the galaxy. But the Palladia never arrives at its destination...

Raider Alecto Kylariz liberates the Palladia of her cargo, including Dina. Kylariz is a Roven, destiny incarnate, but it's a term Dina takes to mean nothing more than "raider." In the Roven she finds not only a pirate, but a storyteller with a poet's soul, a man with a past so bloody he has nightmares, and a secret so guarded even her telepathic powers can't breach it.

Kyl abducts Dina to catch the attention of his nemesis, now a respected Synergy Fleet Commander, but the ploy goes awry. Kyl is forced to abandon his damaged ship in the barren wilderness of a barbarous world. Dina is now all he has left, and he's not about to give her up—not when she reminds him so much of the lover he lost years ago in a genocidal slaughter so brutal he refers to it as the "Blood Rain."

Rayn, deported to B'harata, is on probation and forbidden to leave the planet. When he learns of Dina's abduction, he sells his soul for a ship and the means to track down the raider, and once again he finds himself embracing the legacy of violence he had tried so long to escape.

Dina, bound to two very different men, is caught in the crossfire of passion, hatred, and vengeance so strong that another Blood Rain seems only too inevitable, and when the Roven's secret is finally revealed, destiny will be forever changed on all Synergy Worlds...
