No matter how far advanced man becomes nor how far his path takes him, there will still be law
enforcement needed and there still will be hatred. These two basic elements shape Dina's life. Even
if she was not involved in law enforcement, she would still have to keep her deadly secret; she is
a telepath with powers rivaling the hated dens, a race of psi warriors who have been banned from
civilization.
Only her partner knows this about her, but even he does not know the depth of her hatred for the
dens. That hatred will be put to the test when the two go to Exodus on an investigation and Dina
is nearly killed. Her salvation comes from none other than a man she should despise with all her
heart, Rayn, a dens warrior.
However, she needs him and he needs her help as well. Seeing into one another's minds forges a
bond that surpasses the despite and places them in more peril.
Set in an exotic locale, this is a lesson in human nature that is subtly told and has much to
teach everyone in a world where different often means bad to the ignorant.

Synopsis
Outlaw telepath Rayn DeStar has discovered the perfect hiding place. Labeled a misfit by
his own kind and a dangerous "dark outworlder" by others, Rayn has found a home
in the wasteland of Exodus as leader of a band of nomads, where no one knows or cares that
he's a dens. Rayn's peaceful anonymity comes to an abrupt end when the murder of eight
miners brings interplanetary investigators to the desert. Rayn has little interest in the murders,
but a great deal in the female telepath providence has sent him. Dina's strength awakens in him
the lust for power and dominance he's fought against his entire life, and after years of escape,
Dina forces him to face his heritage of violence.
Rookie agent Dina Marlijn arrives on Exodus, thrilled to be on her first outworld homicide case, but
she carries as many secrets as she hopes to unravel. She's a telepath, a fact she hides from
everyone but her partner, for her abilities are close to those of the Dark Star dens, a race so
hated they're banned from Synergy Worlds. But there's one secret Dina keeps even from her partner.
No one hates the dens more than she does.
When her prime suspect, a dens calling himself Rayn DeStar, saves her life, Dina pursues him
for answers. With her investigative and telepathic skills, she believes she can manipulate him into
helping her. When Rayn counters with lies, she expects nothing less, but when their telepathic "bond" leads
her down a path of both physical and mental seduction, she's unprepared for the consequences. Trapped
in a web of desire, mistrust, and betrayal, Dina crosses all the lines she never thought she would.
Time is running out for Dina and Rayn, and the choices they must make will mean life or
death for themselves and those around them...
